Anchorage Fairs & Festivals has completed planning for the 2017 Anchorage July 4th Celebration on the Delaney Park Strip. Included is the traditional 8:00 am pancake breakfast and a community and veteran parade scheduled for 11:00 am. The parade route circles the Park Strip. A full day of activities, rides, food vendors and free entertainment will continue until 6:00 pm.
The parade includes community groups, veterans and military organizations and this year features the Red White & Blue crew, a local all-volunteer marching band.
12 students from the University of Washington Marching Band will join the group and perform right after the parade on the main stage.
At 1:00 pm the reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Flagpole and veteran’s memorial on I street will feature entertainment and speeches.
More than 50 vendors will feature various foods, information and fun.
Golden Wheel will provide a large variety of rides and there will be plenty of Red, White, and Blue.
This year’s theme: The Great American Melting Pot will inspire parade participants and feature Bridge Builders and a host of other ethnic and community organizations.
Don’t miss the fun. The parade, festival and entertainment is all free. Naturally, everything is family friendly.
